There are many ways to remove stains from stainless steel cookware. Stainless steel cookware often look glossy initially but over time they acquire nasty brown spot and rusty areas that just won’t go away with your typical dish-washing. Beautiful frying pans! I remember I had these special pots purchased from Shoprite several years back which I handled with great care. After undergoing some pretty jagged treatment they blackened and burnt-out.
Tricks Up My Sleeves
I thought of using several means to get rid of these spots. Initially, I poured lemon juice in my pots, squishing with a little water, and bringing to a boil –That worked as far as it could. I also experimented with baking soda in just the same way as my lemon –The burnt stuff was afloat on the surface – The result was better. I visited a grocery shop two street away from a mega supermarket and I purchased—Dawn Power Dissolver—it’s a breeze! It works like a charm. All you have to do is spray it on the burnt steel-ware without adding water and then set aside for at least fifteen minutes to dry. You may also want to try out Cameo cleaner.
It’s doesn’t cause abrasion and is especially formulated for the removal of stainless steel cookware stains—I tried it once and it worked. A friend of mine also shared his preference on getting rid of stainless steel stains—Bar Keeper’s Friend—Which he boasts does an amazing job—New pot!
You’ll need a couple of things
- Sponge (Preferably, a Non-abrasive. sponge)
- Rubber gloves
1. Pour a small amount of water into the pot, then add a few scoop of Bar Keepers Friend.
2. Mix the solution i.e. the Water and Bar Keeper’s friend.
3. Using a sponge, spread the mixture all around the pot.
4. Apply some effort and scrub away at the stain. This should take you 5-minutes or less. Add more Bar keepers Friend to your sponge for defined stain.
5. Repeat all over again for the outside of the pot
6. Then Rinse and dry.
